This is a great alternative to Celine Soft 16 tote. My friend is choosy yet she wore the bag right away. She loved the roomy interior and zip compartment. I may have to make one for her mom and myself too. Leather looks supple but stiff enough to allow bag to stand on its own; also seems water-resistant. By mistake, I was sent the video for the smaller version with slightly different strap & closure but I figured it out.

This is my third bag kit from Pop Sewing and again I’ve thoroughly enjoyed making it. The kit is good quality and well made. The resulting bag so nice that Mum claimed it within seconds of the strap being clipped on!

Love the design, really enjoyed the assembly process. The only potential problem was that the clasp on the front piece was attached to the wrong side of the leather, and I didn't notice until after I'd gotten to a certain point. I had to undo a few pieces, unscrew the clasp and swap it around to the correct side, then redo what I'd done. It was worth the effort though, because there is a very slight difference in texture and colour between the front and back, and it looked off having only one piece look different from the rest. That being said, swapping it over was really quite easy, and it's just a reminder for me to check everything thoroughly before starting!

Fun and easy! Love how my purse turned out. Would have appreciated written instructions because the video was hard to follow sometimes, but I could figure it out. Overall, I very enjoyed this homemade project.

Can't believe I made this. I'm THRILLED. Have some patience, go slow, and you have a masterpiece by the end!

The project looks intimidating at first, but after getting a hang of it, it's actually not too bad. I spent about 6.5hr to finish, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely a good buy for crafty people!

Absolutely enjoy the process of making this bag. Such a fun experience and it makes the bag extra special knowing you made it yourself! Use it everyday and has excellent quality

The kit came with instructions that is detailed. The instructions were easy to follow. Took me two days to finish it. The result looks great. Recommend for beginners.

This bag I love it It feels smooth high class real leather was very pleased. Once I got the hang of the sewing it was very easy to do.

The bag was fairly easy to put together, with a good tutorial, and all the necessary materials were included. Has a good amount of space (I got the medium size), and nice hardware. Fun project to do over the weekend.

Still working on putting this one together but so far I'm really impressed, the bag is roomy and honestly has a ton of pockets and organization. The leather and kit quality is exceptional, as usual for Popsewing. I'm really enjoying making it and I think I'll also enjoy using this bag for travel and work!

POPSEWING® Leather Supple Large Tote Bag DIY Kit

I love this bag. Nice leather and edges are finished so nicely. I used the youtube site to see how to build. Toward the end it is difficult to follow the adding of the "piping" strip and gusset. I had to rerun the video several times to see what was being added. Still, the bag was great to make and the results great.

The material and kit overall was very well put together. The overall product was loved by many. Only improvements I would say is shipping and tutorial. It still took 10 business days after paying quite a bit for expedited shipping. The tutorial was hard to follow as it only showed a section of the bag at a time. Would be nice to be able to see the full bag. In addition if it was broken into steps with timestamps on the video.

I found this kit to be a bit of a challenge as the instructions on the tutorial were a little vague. However I managed to finish the bag and am pleased with the result. I found the thread, which was thicker than I had with other kits, quite difficult to use and it did not have such a neat finish as with thinner thread I had before.

This is the second bag that I’ve made from Popsewing. I’ve made a card holder and AirPods case in addition to the Birkin-inspired bag. I found this kit to be quite challenging but not in a bad way. If it were too easy, it wouldn’t be as much fun in my opinion. Sewing in the piping as well as the inside divider pocket were the most difficult parts. You also have to look very carefully to make sure that you are sewing the right side of the leather—the texture is very slightly different so it would be very easy to confuse them and mess up your bag: if there were anything I could change, that would be it. Perhaps in future kits the grain pattern could be easier to distinguish?

I told my husband that this is my “Ow F*** Bag” because I said “Ow f****” many times during the construction! My cat had fun trying to make me mess up as well. The leather in this bag is fairly rigid, but I don’t think it is a problem. I’m sure it will soften as I break in the bag. The finished bag looks very nice and almost like a professional made it (there are some uneven stitches here and there as well as obvious glue spots in a couple of places). All in all, this is a good kit to get. I will continue to be a repeat customer because the kits are so fun to make and I love getting the compliments on my items. My friends and family can’t believe that I made them myself!
