POPSEWING® Top Grain Leather New Platinum Bag DIY Kit

This bag is appropriately advertised as intermediate- challenging but very rewarding to make! Instructions were good; however, it’s for the size 30- so some of the instructions you have to modify for smaller bag sizes. I also would’ve loved more “marker holes” on the base and in some other areas. I also didn’t care for the material used on the interior, wish it was all leather. The corners were most challenging. Overall very pleased with the materials and final product! Loyal popsewing customer <3

Everything included to sew a beautiful handbag yourself. Find some YouTube videos apart from the tutorial link which is included in the mail. Very happy with the bag. Beautiful leather, inside is no leather but is as advertised. Hope the beautiful hardwear and eco leather will keep long. Haven't used the bag yet but so happy with the outcome without any previous leather sewing experience. 🧵 🪡

I ordered a Birkin 25 DIY kit to make for my mom for her birthday and the kit was so much fun to make! The quality of the leather is amazing and the kit was so easy and fun to follow along. If I had any question, the team was very quick to respond. Truly a great experience and I can say I learned a new skill! Will definitely be buying more!

It took me two months to finish, but it was worth it. I showed it to a few people and they were amazed. I even added an Hermès Twilly to tie around the bag and brought along the guitar keychain to complete the look. Im afraid now to take it out because it looks too good I don’t want it to be stolen.

It's not my first bag, not my last!
I already had the 25 cm and I wanted the 30 cm, an not just plain black or neutrals 😅 I choose the orange. The color is so bright and i received so many compliments! And of course I already ordered my next one! The video is so easy to follow, and when you first get a hang of it, it's so easy! For reference, I am 178 cm tall

I have made five bags from popsewing. I am in love with each one. The latest is a purple Birkin inspired. The leather is so soft construction was so easy.

I have completed 4 PopSewing bag kits so far! The Platinum Bag kits are fantastic! The kit contained everything you need to complete a beautiful bag. The YouTube videos were easy to follow! My bags only took a few days to complete! I love my completed bags and will be ordering another bag very soon!

I have finished the Leather New Platinum Bag and it looks amazing. My wife loves it.

My Birkin inspired gold in 25 size and matching thread, she is a ovely bag and very handy size for day to night though do prefer the 30 for a work day.
I do wish his size came in the same colours as the 30 size because I would buy some more, although on second thoughts perhaps it is best for my retirement planning that it doesn’t!
If you are on the fence I recommend jumping in and having a go, don’t be put off by others comments on difficulty with the bottom or piping. I’ve never had a problem and never pre-baste anything.

I ordered the Birkin style diy kit, size medium in taupe with white stitching. The order contained EVERYTHING one could possibly need for this project. The quality of the leather is impressively buttery soft. The precut pieces already sealed at the edges. Everything screames high end. The instructional video was sent to me two weeks before the arrival of the package. It is long and literally shows every stitch. However, I would have preferred more subtitles as there was a lot of explaining going on in Chinese which was not translated. The decorative stitching on all pieces and even sewing the sides was relatively easy. The bottom actually took me about 5-6 hours as I struggled with the corners and the number of relevant holes to stitch. In the end I actually provisionally stitched one side just to align the holes. The result is stunning and was definitely worth it. I received many compliments for the bag and some do not believe that I sewed it myself.

Holes for the handles didn’t line up or match. The bottom of the bag holes don’t lineup so I got to the end of the bag and it’s literally useless with a hole in the bottom of it where there are missing holes. I’ve reached out and they have replied but not offered to fix the problem

Fantastic experience from start to finish.
The quality of the materials is excellent and the tutorial is easy to follow (even if you do feel like you're missing some additional advice if following the subtitles).
This bag was a pleasure to make, it took several evenings but well worth the time! It's beautiful and sturdy, it's now my favourite bag and easily fits everything I need.
If the kit came in a larger size I would buy it again for work.

I spent approximately 10–12 hours on this bag, spread over several weekends. The holes aligned well, which made the sewing process smoother. The video instructions are helpful; however, many parts are only in Chinese, so if you do not speak the language and have no prior sewing experience, the project may be challenging.

The materials are very nice, and I really love the blue/teal color with the gold hardware and the matching thread. There was sufficient guidance on thread usage, and I only made a small mistake on the bottom part, which was manageable.

One downside is the very strong smell of the materials, which lingered for several days in the room where the bag was stored. Additionally, I would have appreciated being able to choose the twilly myself, as I do not like orange as a color.

Overall, it is a very nice project, and I may purchase another one in the future.

Everything in this kit was excellent. The leather is lovely, the color is gorgeous and true to the photos, the tools were all included.

This is my second DIY bag kit and it was definitely a step up in skills, but completely doable. The tutorial was great and easy to follow. I don’t know how long it took me to finish, but I completed it over a long holiday weekend. It was such a relaxing project and the final bag is gorgeous.

I highly recommend this kit and can’t wait to do another.

Absolutely love how this bag turns out, so far I have made 2 with another kit on its way. The leather is beautiful with rich colours, video is easy to follow and more than enough thread if you do go wrong ☺️
