My mom is very into crafting and sewing. She absolutely loves this gift.
This is a really nice kit to gift to someone wanting to step into leathercrafting world. I love the leather they chose for this project too because it's good quality and has a nice leather smell. Great instructions as well.
I plan to use this to craft a wallet for my mother and surprise her.
The dark green color is like a forest green, darker than a kelly green. The embossed calfskin leather is beautiful, and the lambskin lining is super soft. Assembly required gluing and trimming leather pieces, in addition to stitching. Also, the leather edges were unfinished/unpainted, so I used Edge Kote purchased from Amazon, and painted, buffed, and re-painted many layers of the paint sealant onto all the edges until they were smooth.
I love that the holes for stitching are angled slots instead of big round holes. Although the round-hole kits are easier to sew, the angle-slots can make for a more beautiful and professional-looking finished project. Unfortunately, the hardware/buckle is flawed (bumpy, dimpled surface), so I kept this wallet instead of gifting it as I originally intended.

Fun & challenging! Can be a bit frustrating because you need to prepare some extra tools but worth it!
This is my 5th or 6th item ordered from Popsewing and because I liked it so much I wanted this wallet. Previously I helped a friend sew this one in black and the leather was better quality and edges were sealed. This order, the video instruction was poorly made, does not tell you how much thread to use to sew, and you have to glue the leather together. I requested for better video but was sent the same exact video provided before. Thankfully I saved the last video I used to sew last project and used it as my guideline to finish this one. Unless you are experienced, I don’t recommend starting with this item.
Hi dear Lindy,
Thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry to hear your unsatisfied experience with this product. We value our customers advises very much, and we're sure will make a better tutorial soon. As for the materials, the leather kit you bought before was made from split leather, not as good quality as this leather kit. And we also stated its edges are unpainted so DIY crafters could enjoy painting the edges themself. Thank you for your feedback again, we hope to have the chance to serve you again.
Overall, I love this kit. The directions are pretty thorough and everything you need is in the box, except for glue, cutter and a pricking iron. Me a beginner is able to make this, though not perfect, I still think it come out great and like it very much.

Unfortunately, the quality of the hardware/buckle isn’t as good as the leather. I had originally planned to gift this when finished, but I would be embarrassed to do so now. Unfortunately, I’d covered the hardware with protective artist tape, as shown in the video tutorial, to protect it from damage while working on it. After I glued, trimmed, stitched, and paint-sealed the whole thing, I removed the protective tape from the hardware, and discovered the obvious flaws in the finish.
After all the time I spent on this project, it’s disappointing to see the bumpy, dimpled surface of the hardware every time I look at the cardholder. I’ve purchased so many Popsewing kits that were perfect. Sadly, the kits I’ve purchased this year have not been consistently good. I advise anyone who receives a kit to check each and every piece thoroughly before beginning. I provided feedback on the quality problem, and was offered only a replacement hardware piece (which would not be possible to install after the lining has been glued and stitched on).

It was slightly on the challenging side for me but not so much that it made me frustrated.
I was looking for something fun and different to craft. Im excited to try this out.
If anyone is looking for a starter gift for a new crafter this is it. I highly recommend
This kit is not as good as the others that popsewing offers. Holes are not as clearly punched, so you don’t get a clean result.
Hi J
Thank you for taking the time to share us your feedback with this kit. We're sorry to hear that you weren't very pleased with this kit. Different from our other kits, we punch slant holes for this kit, so they are not so clear as round holes. Your feedback helps us to approve it better. We will do better in the future.
