POPSEWING® Top Grain Leather Bi-color Platinum Bag DIY Kit

My mother loved the bag! The quality of the worksmanship and product exceeded exceptations!

Love this kit but did not love the skinny, not-ment-for-leather needles sent with the kit. I had to switch them out. But that is my only issue with the supplies in the kit. The “matching” thread color for the peacock blue kit matches very well and the bag, when completed, looks elegant. The video is in English and is very easy to follow. The only issue I had when constructing the bag was self-imposed -- I failed to properly match the large chisel holes when sewing the bottom of the bag to the sides. I had sewn around two corners before I realized my error and had to rip out the stitches and start over. Fortunately the kit comes with two spools of thread so that saved me. Before sewing the bottom on the second (and final) time, I first matched the holes with safety pins and pinned the bottom all the way around (see photo). I kept the pins on while counting the stitches so I did not miss any holes at the corners. When first starting to sew the bottom to the sides I found the piping to be unwieldy. To make sewing easier, I used 1/8th inch wide double stick tape to adhere the piping cord down the center of the leather piping strips. I only needed to tape about 5-6 inches of the cord to the leather strip to make the start of the stitching easier. After that the bottom was a breeze to sew. Overall a great kit.

The kit was extensive with everything you needed to hand sew a beautiful bag.The quality of the leather was very good and it was easy and straight forward to put together.I would definitely purchase another in the future.

Before I made my beige/white stunner I made this lovely lady in khaki. Beautiful on a fuller day or if going for a more subdued or understated look, a pleasure to make and a great bag at the end, I’ve received the caramel two tone to make as well - someone pleas organise an intervention, I think I have a problem!

I’ve made the khaki bi colour colour bag which I liked, the green bicolour that I love, but this beige combo lady is absolutely next level gorgeous and I want everyone to have the chance to admire and own her, I cannot adequately express how beautiful she is in real life.
I did have significant oopsie on the back piping due to my overconfidence and going’off piste’ with the way I decided to sew the piping but was able to fix it without too much trouble.
As usual the customer support was absolutely excellent and super responsive on the WhatsApp chat although I didn’t need much help ( I’ve made quite a few bags now so have pretty much got the hang of things and don’t really need the tutorial for this style anymore) but I really appreciate the check from the customer service angels to make sure everything is going OK - fabulous customer service!
The product quality is superb and I really appreciate that this is the same bag that is offered elsewhere (not mentioning names but if you know you know) but at an extremely fair price which allows me to purchase and make more.
Have just received my latest order in the brown/gold colour in time to make for winter in the Land Down Under!

I got this as a Christmas gift and I am completely obsessed. It was surprisingly easy to make and turned out so beautiful. I wish I had recorded the whole process because it felt intimidating at first, but once I started I knew I could finish it without a problem. The leather is top tier and the quality is incredible. I even got a mini purse keychain and I am in love. I now want to get more. Only thing is I wish it did not come with the pre-made holes for the cross body strap.

Love this bag. Easy to put together and fun to wear. I made this in the khaki colourway. I took off one point because the thread was a terrible match, it actually looked yellow on the bag. I had to order thread from a competitor in order to make the bag.

I loved making this bag and loved the end result just as. Much. I've already ordered again and added to my Christmas list

I ordered the Burkin like bag kit and it arrived in a timely manner. The contents were as described and the leather was good quality. The only two issues I have with the kit(which won’t stop me ordering another) are a) that the video tutorial subtitles were not as clear as the original Chinese instructions which resulted in me having an edge showing at the base of the front of the bag and b) the hardware was not as nice quality as the leather( I would happily pay more to get more premium hardware).

I just finished she bag and it's gorgeous. I am glad it's not my first DIY kit. It took quite a bit of time to put together, but the result is gorgeous

I'm SO happy with how this turned out. The materials are high quality, customer service was responsive to emails, and I love the fact that I made my new bag. The kit comes with plenty of extra thread and needles. The finger covers they send are really helpful for gripping the needle. They also sent twillies! There's a little bit of a learning curve, but the instructional video starts with the easier parts so you can learn as you go. I just finished this bag, and I can't wait to pick out then next one!

I ordered the Bi-Color Platinum Bag kit in Peacock Blue. The image of the color on the website doesn’t do it justice! The instructions’ subtitles were easy to understand. The sewing technique leads to a beautiful resulting product. Buying another for a Christmas gift to make!

I needed a new Mommy bag (i.e. a bag that can hold all my stuff and then some kids small toys and snacks). This is the perfect size and just what I was looking for.
The bag was precut so it was easy to tell which pieces were which. Assembly took me some time as my kids did interrupt a few times. Even though it took a while I really like the way it looks and the color is very vibrant.

Before I sewed my first DIY handbag kit, I had only ever sewn a button and darned socks, and I can tell you that these are suitable for beginners. After my first kit I really became addicted to making these bags -it’s so relaxing and with every bag, I learn something new (as well as get a bag!)

I have ordered 2 of these kits and both have been even better than expected. Leather quality is wonderful and soft. The finished product is stunning!!😍

I loved my birkin kit. The finished purse came out so gorgeous. The leather was awesome. The instructional video was very helpful. I very much enjoyed the process of stitching everything together myself. There were some challenging moments, as well as a few times where my stitching was misaligned so I had to undo my work. But the end product was so worth it. I already have more kits on the way and I can't wait to finish those. I chose some advanced kits so it will take me a lot longer, but I am looking forward to the finished products.

I really love this kit. It made a fabulous bag. I want to do more!
